Up So Close
This simple Chuck Close-inspired piece is available as a really nice archival pigment print (suitable for framing) from Wall Blank for a limited time. The whole business model of selling under-the-radar art and photography on a limited run basis that just about anybody can afford is pretty cool.
What’s even cooler is that since it was featured on what Wall Blank calls “No-Profit Fridays,” 100% of the proceeds go straight to Canaan Children’s Home in Uganda. I’ve spent some time with Pastor Isaac Wagaba and what they’re doing at this place with the orphans of HIV/AIDS in the face of ongoing conflict is really miraculous.
In summary, if you’ve got a blank wall and thirty bucks, why not get some art and buy school books for orphans in Africa while you’re at it. Win-win, my friends — and that’s what we are all about.
